Burning Love's Nicotine

In a realm of desire, our paths once entwined,

But now I'm consumed by a love left behind,

I'm burning my fingers, dared touchin' yours,

A touch that ignited, now anguish endures.

My lips, once aflame with the dreams we once shared,

Now burn with regret, as if no one cared,

Burning my lips that yearned for your course,

A kiss that was stolen, turned bitter, remorse.

Through cigarette's ashes, my feelings decay,

A smokescreen of memories, fading away,

If you dare to kiss me, love's gone, I say,

Lost in the smoke, where emotions betray.

No taste of affection, just nicotine's sway,

A bitter reminder of love's slow decay,

Yet I'll let the embers of our love ignite,

In the flickering flames, I'll find strength and might.

For in the ashes of what once was so true,

A phoenix shall rise, renewed and brand new,

I'll gather the fragments, let go of the pain,

And with newfound hope, I'll love once again.
