Thorns of Eros (Sonnet)

In roses' grace, thorns' presence often hides,
Their beauty masks the pain that dwells within,
Yet if you dare to bare your wounded sides,
I'll share my own, a journey to begin.

"Show me yours," the earnest plea I make,
Reveal the burdens that your heart has borne,
With empathy and love, we both partake,
In healing wounds, we find a love reborn.

And in return, I promise without heed,
"I'll show you hands, in willingness to bleed,"
Together we'll confront the thorns we face,
In unity, our love will find its place.

For every rose may bear its thorny creed,
But through our shared pain, love shall succeed.
